Disk Management & EISA Partition

Hi, I think I messed up my hard drive while trying to erase the EISA partition on it. It's a Gateway P7811-FX laptop with a single 200 GB hard drive. Before, I only had 1 main partition: the C: Drive (176.31 GB), along with the hidden 10 GB EISA partition.

After making recovery disks, I followed this tutorial:
Delete and Remove to Unlock EISA Hidden Recovery or Diagnostic Partition in Vista » My Digital Life

Following that, I went in Disk Management. The hidden partition showed up, but I couldn't extend the C drive to use the unallocated 10 GB, so I converted it to a simple 10 GB volume. Then I used Acronis Disk Director Suite and merged the two partitions.

And now, I can't do anything in Disk Management. There's only one partition now (186.31 GB), but when I right click on it, there's no options to create, shrink, delete, or extend the partition. They were there before, but the only option that shows up is Help.

Under Status, it says Healthy (Active, EISA Configuration). I think I merged the partitions the wrong way, so now there's no "System, Boot, Page File..." partition. Everything is on the EISA partition.

When I try to run Acronis, the program doesn't load up. I've tried using Diskpart but I can't create any new partitions either. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

ouch indeed you merged the partitions the wrong way..

Can you tell what file system is now the partition? has it been converted to fat32?
Can you use convert in diskpart?

Since you have Acronis, can't you create an Acronis Boot Disc and boot your PC with that, and see what you can do from there?

can you assign a drive letter? its hidden in disk management and EISA manages the drive letter assignment..

diskpart> select disk 0
diskpart> select partition 1
diskpart> remove
diskpart> assign letter=c

From right clicking the hard drive, it says that the local drive (C) is NTFS.
Yes I've tried converting. Check attached image for results.

As far as Acronis, I can't get the program to run successfully any more. When I execute it, the splash comes up that says analyzing the drives, but then nothing else happens. The program appears in my process list, but that's it.

My computer still runs fine and can boot up normally. It's just that I can't do anything related to partitioning my hard drive any more.

Tried this, but the only volume that shows up is my dvd drive. Check the attached image.

Tried it. Startup repair found no problems, and system restore couldn't be used because I think my restore points were on that hidden partition I deleted.

That was the Boot Manager you deleted........... Don't delete it!
Just put in your Vista disk, and do a repair install.

Well yes you are right.. but I did it. I ERASE IT... and let me tell you that the´s no way the Windows Install CD can NOT recover the boot or the disk in any way. IF you format the that partition you will be deleting BOOT, and the most important thing: DISK PARTITION TABLE. SO the windows Install CD or any System will not be even able to "See" the partition. It´s a HELL of a situation.

GLADLY I had a Windows XP partition on other disk in the same PC. From there I tried to install any imaginable program for recovering files, but then I found that the only thing that I need to recover was the PARTITION TABLE. Then after, recovering the boot will be easier to recover, once the partition is already "Visible".

I used (WITH NO LUCK) "Recovery Data NTFS", "ReviveR", "NTFS DATA RECOVERY", "R-Sturio" "Spotmau Power Suite 2009", "GetDataBack" (this one almost did it), "EASEUS Data Recovery Wizard Professional" (Almost too, good one !!), "Partition Data Doctor 3.5".... BUT NONE of these helped me to recover my Partition Table.

THE ONLY ONE PROGRAM THAT HELPED ME COMPLETLY and repaired the disk without having to recover data and install again is "Active Partition Recovery v5.3.717".

THIS IS A GREAT PROGRAM !!!!! It repaired the partition table automaticly, FIX THE BOOT with JUST one click and repaired the rest of the partitions on the disk. AND without having to scan the WHOLE disk. Just click on "Fast Scan" (also has "Deep Scan") Great program I really advice it to any one having trouble with their disks.

THANKS for everything !!! :)
