Recent Items list

Can anyone help please? My Recent Items list in Start shows on audio and video files. How can I get it to reveal other recently accessed documents?

Re: Recent Items list

Hello Pluckaduckie, and welcome to Vista Forums.

That will only show you a limited amout of the most recently opened files. You can type shell:recent in the Start Menu search line and press Enter to open the Recent folder to see all of your recent items.

Hope this helps,
Shawn

Another method, which you may or not prefer. Go to control panel, personalize, task bar and start menu (bottom left), start menu, customize. You can pick the number of items that you want to show.

I just tried the method sugested by Brink. It shows many more items and is definitive. The choice is yours.

Re: Recent Items list

Thanks for the great tips! I've tried them both and works well. No other way of getting eg Word documents or Excel files onto the Start/Recent Items list?

The best you could do, as far as I know, is to have the files appear on the desktop.
