Black screen and power off with occasional BSofD

I've never had this before except when my first desktop went totally black. Anyways....my laptop screen has suddenly taken to going black and then to either low resolution then black again, rebooting to black, rebooting several times or black and then to BSofD with irg_display_fault or something of that sort...windows has shut down to prevent whatever, whathaveyou. Screen will even freeze in safe mode, during bios editing or during recovery sessions when graphics card is not in use. I did recently update my graphics card with file from manufacturer for this laptop. Did roll it back with continued and same results. Tonight is the first time I've seen the irq issue displayed which leads me to believe that this has somehow gotten messed up but how and how do I fix it? I do not run a second display but tried it out with s video and it worked fine via tv. I have a toshiba p105 with an intel 945gm graphics card. Have never done anything fancy with graphics or anything but this is driving me mad. I hate for my hd to go on crashing like this. Any and all suggestions are appreciated.

It may be that the graphics hardware in your laptop is beginning to fail.

Would it be possible for you to post the STOP error code (0x000000XX) and the descriptive name? From there, we can give you better information...

Has not blue screened again on me yet but is sometimes blacking out and shutting down computer especially if I change any settings on the panel fit like maintain aspect ratio etc.. If it happens with the blue screen again I will try to make a note of it. I feel like I am getting the blue screen each time but am unable to view it for some reason.
