| Vista Ultiimate 32bit | Create a new personal user shell folder Hi there, I would like to create a completely new personal user shell folder. My setup is as follows: Hard disk is partitioned as C:\ and D:\ and Vista is installed on C:\. I have used the change location facility to move my main shell folders (Desktop, Documents, Downloads, Music, Pictures, and Videos) to folders on D:\. I have also created a new folder on D:\ called Development. I would like to be able to have a shell folder appear under my name which points to the Development folder on D:\. I tried creating a Development folder under C:\Users\paul\, and this had the desired effect of making a Development folder show up under my name in Windows Explorer. But there is no Location tab like there is for other shell folders. Any ideas how I can make this folder point to the desired folder on D:\? Cheers, Paul |

| Vista Home Premium 32-bit & Vista Ultimate 64-bit both Service Pack 2 W7 Pro RTM 7600 32 & 64 | Re: Create a new personal user shell folder Hi mrgordonz and welcome to Vista Forums ![]() I'm sorry, but there is no way that you can add a new personal shell folder to the ones already available. The nearest that I can suggest is that you make this Development folder a sub-folder in your main Documents folder |

| Vista Ultiimate 32bit | Re: Create a new personal user shell folder Hi Dwarf, I was doing some more searching in the forums, and I found this thread: Creating a Personal User Folder which in turn led me to this site: Junction Link Magic I have created a Junction Link (although I'm not 100% sure what they actually are), and it has pretty much done what I want, although the folder icon has the little shortcut arrow on it to indicate it is a shortcut. Have I done something totally silly which will kill my system? Cheers, Paul |
