Vista "Pictures" Folder Problem [Help NEEDED!]

Hi there, I am really hoping someone from this forum can help me out. This I hear is one the best places to obtain help. I just about tried everything I can, and its just not working. Here is my issue...

Somehow, my "Pictures" folder, the whole thing, not just the contents got moved to the Music section. I guess I accidently dragged it there or something. I noticed it, wondered it something was wrong. So, I clicked on the start orb and clicked on my pictures. It was still there. So, I deleted the folder that was in my music section and now the whole pictures folder is gone. I tried the "shell:mypictures, but here's the thing... it seems it creating the folder on my DESKTOP. I do NOT want it there. When I delete the folder from my desktop, this is the message it gives me:

I am kinda freaking out right now. I don't know what to do. I really hope one of you can help me!

Thanks!

Mmm, this is pretty strange, but I don't get the thing you are trying to do.

What is your objective?

I'm trying to restore the pictures folder all together. I can't access it from the start menu or anywhere else.

Hello RoccaweaR2, and welcome to Vista Forums.

See if using Option Three in the tutorial below to restore the default pathway for the Pictures (My Pictures in registry) folder can help sort this out for you.

Personal User Folder - Restore Missing Folder

If not, then post a screenshot of the registry location below including the entire right pane.

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\User Shell Folders

Hope this helps for now,
Shawn

^Why thank you! OK I have a question. The registry. Which is the better approach. Downloading the one you offer? Or manual. I'm very nervous about messing with the registry. And I am so happy that you guys responded in a very little amount of time.

RoccaweaR2,

Either way will do the samething, so I would recommend the download since you are not comfortable doing the manual method.

If it does not help, then if you can post back a screenshot of that registry location above, I'll take a look at it to see if something is wrong there.
