Mediaid.bin missing or corrupt

Thanks for having me. I spent 4 hours online with MS today for him to tell me the subject Mediaid.bin was missing or corrupt. My system keeps crashing and will not autorestore. I guess it has somethingto do with this media file. My question...Do I need to take this computer in or can someone here help me? I am attaching the error message id # 0x8100001A. I don't mind paying for assistance but I'm not a rich guy

thank you,
