"Memory Or the Motherboard"

Is there any software to check weather the motherboard slot is bad or the Memory in my system. I use to get get BSOD when i was running Vista in my system and concluted it was the Memory in my system i removed 1 memory and then the system was working fine. Now the system giving different BSOD everytime and the system and restarts by itself...the Performance Monitor does not shows anything...Im not sure weather the memory is Bad or the Motherboard slot is bad....
Is there a software to find that...!!!

If you hit F8 as the pc is booting - after the POST -but before the start of the vista boot you should get the extended startup menu to go into safe mode etc

it can be a bit hit and miss so keep trying every second or so till it takes :)

Ther should be an entry fro MEMTEST select this and follow all instructions - warning this will take a while (possibly several hours) to complete

I have two slots in the system and one memory chip as i have taken the other one memory of the system - we can find weather the memory is fine or not what about the motherboard slot - and how do i find which slot of the two has the Problem....?
