Solved - How to force the computer to shutdown when I close the lid

I am using Vista Home Premium 64 bits.

In power option, I chose shutdown when the lid is closed :D (I am quite lazy). After go out for a while, I open up the lid and... see the fact is that the laptop is still waiting for me to click Shutdown now to shutdown!!!!

I can not print screen but it looks like this:

The following programs are still running:
...

To close these programs and turn off your computer, click Shutdown Now. You may lose work that haven’t saved.
So can we force the computer to shutdown when I close the lid?

Close all running programs before closing the lid.

Close all running programs before closing the lid.

I would like to force the computer to shutdown even there are still some running programs.

I can see many program scan force processed to terminate such as "iShut" or task schedule in Internet Download Manager. And currently I am using iShut (included in RK laucher) to shutdown the computer. Now I just want to shutdown the computer by closing the lid.
Thnx away.

Try looking in the power options other than that I don't know.

Now it works. We just need to create AutoEndTasks (String) and set its value = 1.

  1. Click Start.
  2. In the search box, type regedit and hit Enter.
  3. Locate the following key in the registry: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Desktop
  4. In the right pane look for (if there is not, create one (type String)) this sub-key: AutoEndTasks
  5. Double -click on AutoEndTasks and give it the value 1.
  6. Exit the registry.
Restart.

You can read more about AutoEndTasks at
