Vista Admin Corrupt problem

Im New, Nice to meet you all.

I have a vista hp compacs unit.. the Admin went corrupt. I cannot retrieve any files..
How do I get in..? Im the admin holder, I am writng this on the other have of this unit..

HP wants a fee to correct this, The store I bought this from does Not supply any discs for this unit,

any help would be welcome..

Hi terryv,

Welcome to the Forum.

There is a tutorial here that will help:

Reset User Account Password

Sounds like you may need to use Method 3 ( option two is easier in my opinion. )

Hello, I would like to Thank you for the Information.. I will give it a shot..

this Vista is Very tricky.. I have No idea what I got myself into..Hp gave me options.. to the Money end with Nothing written in stone.. just a gamble for cash..

Hello, I am Not quite sure where to start.. I was on the other have of this vista.. and just had ieexplorer crapped out.. .. I have nothing on the unit.. Im writing this all from work.. theres no Smiles here..

1 1/2 years is all Ive had this for.. Im Not sure about this Vista thing.. I spent alot of money on this just to recieve poor service.. from HP and the store.. TO the repliers of this thread , I would like to say thanks.. I was in the process of doing as suggested..

Im thinking the recovery was just to full..

Terry,

You an see if resetting Internet Explorer can help it. It may be a bad add-on causing the problem.

Internet Explorer - Reset
