Problem & no idea how to fix.

Every so often when I shut my computer down, I get an error with the exception: 0x0000005 with the application: 0x777cbe16. It says I have to "End Now."
It's a brand new computer; I got it for Christmas, so it's really annoying to have an error message popping up already... I took it to BestBuy to see what they could do and they did absolutely nothing. I'm just wondering if anyone knows how in the world to fix this pesky error.

Thanks.

Hi,

@ jfar
I am afraid that the KB you have linked to is unlikely to solve this particular issue as it dates from 2003 and applies to errors in IE4.01.

@sibylvane
How long have you been getting this error, if this has only started very recently you may be best serves performing a system restore to a time before it was present

System Restore - How to - Vista Forums

If this has been happening for longer then we will need more information as the 0x0000005 error is a general one and may apply to varied problems.

For example when the error occurs are you running or have been running a particular program or performing a particular task?

Hi the error no he is getting brings u to the said page I didn't read the entire page I was leaving that up to himself,He said he got the laptop at Christmas this year so the error no must still be used for a later date of IE ? I actually think he needs to install latest drivers for his graphics card ,but I may be wrong.

Hi jfar,

The unfortunate thing with the 0x0000005 error is its a rather general one "Apllication failed to initialise", that's been around in MS products for years, so without more specifics it's very difficult to track down.

To be honest there's not a lot of reference to this error with vista, that I can find, at all so that's one reason I suggested the system restore if it's viable.

Hopefully we'll be able to track it from a different direction :D

Well it's been doing it pretty much since I got it, which was around Christmas. It just makes me mad since it's brand new. I don't understand why it would be doing this.
I just saw that sometimes the number for the application changes, but it always starts with: 0x7...
