problems with windows messenger 9

I just download windows live messenger 9 and i'm unable to make a call or use my webcam can anyone help me.

Well, first off, make sure your drivers are all updated.

Second, go into device manager and check to make sure that they are both still working properly.

well for sure its not the driver on my system or the tools because they seem to work perfectly on skype is just this latest messenger i find the problem with. And I also went bact to live messenger 8.5 and the call feature work perfectly as well also the webcam. So whats up with this live messenger 9?

I thought this would be an easy problem to solve... lordbob where are you anybody!!! please help!!

Have you set up the camera with WM9?

If so, then.... I have to figure that out. I'm trying to do my homework at the same time here....

I'm unable to do that it is not giving me that option.

then at least the call option should work cause i have a seperate mic as well but i keep getting error messege when i try (0x8ac70004)

do your homework, but if you can think of something please let me know.

Interesting... How new is the cam/mic?
I could see a compatibility issue if it is fairly old...

well the cam is a logitech quickcam connect e2500 just bought it last week saturday. The mic I dont see the problem cause one or the other should work. They are both vista freindly.

Interesting. Try reinstalling WM9.

When you try to use the cam, what happens? mic too

I did what you suggested and I went to the section where we do audio vedio setup and the message i get is unable to do audio vedio setup.

hit [windows]+pause/break. This will bring up the system menu. Look down at the OS part, and tell me if it says Vista *** 64 bit or not. If it doesn't then its 32 bit.

however, when i click on display picture there is a place that allows you to create your own webcam picture and that works via the webcam, but thats as far as it goes where using the cam or mic is concern on this messenger.

Alright. At this point, I suggest checking WM9 site and finding out if your webcam is compatible.
