Saving customized cursors in Vista Ultimate 64

When I customize my cursors and save with a special name, they only remain until I reboot. Then they go back to the original Vista cursor setup. How can I make my customization become the default?

Thanks.

Vista store cursors in C:\Windows\Cursors.If you want add any additional customize cursors just only past cursors files to this folder.Cursors you can change

Control Panel>>Mouse>>Pointers

If you want to back original cursors in this same applet is option "use default"

I put all of my cursors in C:\Windows\Cursors as suggested. Everything was fine until it went into Sleep Mode. When it came out, it went back to the Windows default cursors again.... ! Any other suggestions? Also, the "Apply" is grayed out when I change my choices. I can only choose OK.

Moving my cursors to Windows/Cursors worked; they now save after reboot. I haven't gone into Sleep mode yet, though. I'm hoping the old problem doesn't return after Sleep mode. (And after years of being able to put cursors anywhere, why they would suddenly make it mandatory to have them in the Cursors folder is beyond me.)
