Everytime i click on "new posts" it always comes back with 75 of them.

Surely sometimes there has got to be either more or less than 75.

Am i missing something here?

Nope, its designed for low bandwidth users. like the image resizing. its a website designed for accessibility

Yep, it will only show up to 75 new posts for the reason MrNeeds posted above. :(

If you click on the individual forums, you will still see the unread posts listed with bold print and read posts unbolded.

Kind of odd for a website devoted to an operating system that requires very modern hardware to be so worried about those without modern internet access.

Not really, in many countries the availability of bandwidth quickly drops off as you leave the major population centres, here in the UK you may be within a few minutes drive from a major population centre and be limited ti dial-up access as broadband is still in the process of expansion. and the UK is not the worst served location for access.
