Don't quote me on this but I have heard that upgrading from XP to Vista is not a good thing, it is best to do a clean installation.

Now, it is also said that, for some reason, Vista doesn't like it when you install with 4GB's of Ram (again... hearsay).

Your rig is better than mine and I am Dual Booting with XP 32 + Vista x64 so I don't see why you can't.

You can't, you would have to do a clean install. It would have to be 32 to 32 or 64 to 64 bit...

You can't, you would have to do a clean install. It would have to be 32 to 32 or 64 to 64 bit...

And to do that with an upgrade disk,

http://www.vistax64.com/tutorials/68767-clean-install-upgrade-vista.html

Also,

Vista doesn't like it when you install with 4GB's of Ram (again... hearsay).

Only with certain chipsets mainly, and the workaround was to pull 2 GB, install, and add the other 2 GB back (for some a bios update fixed it as well). There is/was a patch/hotfix for it for it as well,

Error message when you try to install Windows Vista on a computer that uses more than 3 GB of RAM: "STOP 0x0000000A"

which is included in SP1. If maspunk420's x64 disk has SP1 on it, he shouldn't have any problems.
