| Vista Ultimate 64 | Disk Cleanup files discarded by windows upgrade quesion. I had to do a repair on my vista because something after an install messed it all up. After the install I went into the disk cleanup and it shows 5.67 GB to discard if I want. How can I tell what is in there to discard? I don't want to get rid of anything I need. At this time I can't seem to find anything missing but I have so much stuff it will take a while to notice I guess. Anyone? |

Hello Ingeborgdot, You can look in the hidden C:\Windows.old, C:\$INPLACE.~TR and C:\$WINDOWS.~Q folders to see if there was anything that you may still need in there. If your not sure if you need anything yet, then it may be best to wait a bit before deleting them just to be safe. I hope this helps, Shawn |
