Please Help, I Can't login to vista!

New Member
Just recently bought a new HP PC which comes with XP, I then elected not to backup and proceeded to install vista which was successful.

Unfortunately it asks for a username and a password which I do not have!

Playing FarCry 2 will have to be put on hold for the time being, :(
Oh well, c'est la vie

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Unfortunately I didn't setup any accounts in XP, therefore it looks like I might have to reinstall :(

Unless there are easier options anyone can think of

Hi,

If you are going to reinstall, you may want to set it up so it goes straight to the desktop, without asking you to log in.

When you get this screen during the install, enter a name you can remember, Vista, or mypc , for example. Do not enter a password, just click Next.

If you have anything on there you want to save, let me know as there are ways of doing that.

Alternatively, you could d/l this free.iso, burn to cd using this burner ( do not format cd - if autoplay pops up, just close it )

PCLoginNow, Reset or Recover Windows NT/2000/XP/2003/Vista Administrator Password.

Boot into that cd - it finds your o/s - click the one you want (vista)> Next > it finds accounts> click the one you want, Next>tick Password is Empty> Next, say no when it asks if there is anything else you want to do. Exit, remove cd, restart.

Then once in Vista, set up auto log in from there.

I burnt the winloginnow iso and booted windows
pretty simple and effective :D

much better than reinstalling

now I can look forward to testing my new 4850 :)
