Solved Clock and Calendar have disappeared.

I had the orange calendar and old style analogue wall clock appearing on the upper right hand side of the desktop.

They have disappeared.

However, for reasons of saving resources, I have set Vista to boot with Selective Startup only, so this may be the reason they have disappered.

If so, which Startup item (or Services item) should I tick to make them reappear.

Or what should I do?

Many thanks.

click start and type sidebar > open it and add calendar and clock by clicking on + sign.

if you cannot add only the calendar and clock or if it is missing...then try New User Account.

Kernel,

Thanks for that. Works fine, but when I reboot, I seem to have to do the same thing again.

How can I make the clock and calendar appear automatically like they used to?

Is it Startup item that I need to turn on?

Many thanks.

It seems that you have disabled sidebar from startup.

click start and type sidebar > this time open "windows sidebar properties" and make a check mark on "start sidebar when windows start" and click on apply and OK.

Let me know.

If the calendar and clock were originally part of the Sidebar, you can get them back by going into your Start search pane and typing: "Sidebar." They should both automatically reappear on your Desktop, and you can just drag and drop them into position.
