Vista can't access my old Windows XP NTFS Drive

I have this old hard drive with windows XP on it, and I don't know the password to log in, so I connected it to my ATA port on my computer. I can open the drive, but I can't actually open any of the files, I can just see them. If I try to open a file I get an access denied error.

I can give myself rights to each INDIVIDUAL file with the "takeown" command, but that will take forever. When I use takeown with /R (recurse) it doesn't work. Help?

Hi,

What is it you want to do? Are you trying to copy some files off the old XP drive onto your new machine?

I was trying to get permissions to access the files, but I finally got it. The command was
icacls "F:\" /grant Administrator:F /T

Thank you though!
