Solved Help with User Accounts

Hi all,

I've been using an administrator account for all my daily computing needs. I understand that this is a bad idea so I created another account, standard account, to use. Is there a way to transfer all my settings and program shortcuts etc to this new account or does everything have to be done individually. If this is the case then it's way too much fooling around for my liking and I'll stick with the administrator account.

Using Vista Home Premium 64 bit.

Hello CRPishere, and welcome to Vista Forums.

From within your administrator account, you can copy the contents in the administrator's C:\Users\(user name) folder into the corresponding standard account's C:\Users\(user name) folder to copy them there.

Thanks man.

Not all my settings were passed on, such as gadgets or the quicklaunch toolbar. Funny thing was that my wallpaper setting wasn't passed on, I had thought that would be a for sure one. Anyway with some small cleanup everything is good.
