Vista Desktop + Icons Disappeared?

Hey Guys,
I'm Sorry I have no Idea where should I post this thread but this seemed like the best place...
Lately, I was messing with my TaskManager, And In the Processes Tab, I saw the Dwm.exe (desktop window manager), I Ended it's process and all of a sudden, Everything was gone from my desktop...
I Opened it again through the C:/Windows/System32 folder... it worked in the taskmanager, But still, Nothing showed up on my desktop....

Everything is working fine, My Taskbar, Programs, and even I can locate my desktop icons through the windows explorer / search bar...

But The Problem still exists... I have No Desktop Wallpaper... I have no Icons on my Desktop...
My Desktop is just... Black...

Any Ideas?:confused:

If you have x32 sytem: did you use ComboFix? I know this tool can do this.

Can you open this key?

HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Windows

if yes export this key and attache here

Have you rebooted since then?

In general, it's not a good idea to terminate random system processes. Some of them would react even worse. If you managed to terminate CSRSS or SMSS, everything would turn blue(screen) instead of black ;)

Yeah I did reboot it several times.. I Only terminated it because my pc was having a high pressure and I tried to terminate the useless programs that have a high load on my pc.. i accidently terminated dwm.exe :(

I said only you ComboFix can do this kind of problems like you and surly you needn't it.Because you don't know where it can get you have never used ComboFix..and OK.

Export only the key and attache here what I asked you in my previous post

I opened Registry Editor
and as you said,

If you have difference values copy items to notepad,save as FIX.REG double clik on it + restart

Double check to see if this may be the issue:
  • Open the Control Panel (classic view).
  • Click on the Ease of Access Center icon.
  • Click on the Make the computer easier to see link.
  • Uncheck Remove background images (where available) box.
  • Click on Save.
