I have a weird error problem. when I download say a driver, windows wont run it, but if I download it through my laptop, put onto a USB pen transfer to my vista machine it works fine.

I have downloade the updates from MS so say cure this
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=14f76773-007c-493f-bece-243bc21ac73d&DisplayLang=en&displaylang=en

That dont cure anything.

The Four main errors I am getting are....

(1) if its a zip / rar file...... the file is currupt cant extract (but does if i download via laptop)

(2) (program file) has stoped, windows is finding a solution to this problem (but dont)

(3) an internal exception occoured (address 0x557e91) please contact support @ oreans.com.

I looked at that web address, they design security programs for windows, and I have never used them.

(4) Windows updates dont always download, I have to keep pressing try again, and i get a bit more each time til they download.

But 2 wont download, office 2007 service pack1 and the new nerframework download.

HELP, my first post so sorry for the rambling

Running Vista 64 Ultimate, AMD x2 6400 Asus m2n sli delux MB 8GB crucial memory:confused:

Hope someone can help,

Thanks:cry:

Neverheardofthem, but unfortunately many "security program" vendors live on the very edges of legality. Sometimes it's difficult to distinguish whether their software is the protector or the malware which has hijacked your machine, demanding payment in return for continued "protection".

Given you don't think you've ever purposefully installed their stuff, I'd be very suspicious of whether the machine has been infected with something.

Have you done some thorough virus scanning lately?
