Potential problems: dual boot Vista 32 & 64?

Hello I currently have installed Vista Ultimate 32-bit. I have been waiting for one piece of software to become 64-bit compatible...and in the last few days, it has become as such (by the way, it is Dragon NaturallySpeaking Legal Ed.).

I want to install Vista 64-bit, but I have many software titles and do not have the time to do a clean install and then reinstall all my software and restore all the data files I need all at once.

I want to take it incrementally, so I was thinking about creating a partition on the Vista OS HDD and start out dual-booting so I can slowly migrate my software from the 32-bit to the 64-bit partition.

When I am done with the software migration, I want to delete the 32-bit partition, leaving only the 64-bit partition.

I am fine with purchasing VistaBootPRO and I already own Acronis Disk Director.

What problems will I have when migrating to 64-bit doing the above?

What things should I be aware of so as to not be surprised?

Is there a better way to do this?

Any suggestions?

Thank you,
edsager
