Vista Experience

Overall, I have to say the move to Vista was not at all what I had expected. So far I am very happy with this version of Windows (nice to move away from XP after 6 years).

Is there any hope for Vista to ever overcome it's generally poor reputation?

Hi No 24.....;)

Vista's poor reputation is no longer based on performance, its only problem now is the remaining traces of the rumor that say.....Vista's crap, from the ppl who still have not tried it but choose to write it off on ''here-say'' from over a year ago....

personally i love Vista......:p

I gotta say making the move 2 years after it was released may have been a prudent choice. :D

lol just in time for Windows 7 to replace it(which though very similiar to Vista, blows it out of the water in sheer performance out of the box, and sleekness).

Ah yes, Windows 7... I do kind of wonder if I might have just skipped Vista altogether. Speaking of v7, I kind of figured that after Vista's dismal launch, and Apple's stunning success with Leopard, MS would have to pretty much hit a home run with their next offering.

Is that the case with 7? Is it worth the time and energy required to setup a dual-boot?

No :( Reputation wise, the damage is done. And as a lot of XP users switch straight to Seven, the Vista bashing will continue.

Glad you like Vista. We do :)

though I am just gonna purchase another system builder OEM of x64 Win 7 Ultimate when its released. Ill give my Vista Ultimate x64 to my wife .

Yes, excellent idea! I can give the wife my current rig and build an entirely new unit around Win 7! Heh, 'course she'll never go for it, but I can dream damnit!

Back on topic - even using the x64 version of Vista has been relatively painless both from a hardware and software standpoint.
