vista home premium sp1 32bit

i upgraded from windows xp to vista recently and dvd burner didnt work, finally got that working now when i open dvd maker to burn a video it tells me it isnt working and will close...then showing me that its a Data Execution Protection problem. i cannot turn the dep off for these programs and am lost!!! movie maker tells me the same thing. anyone???

Hello Shanley,
You might see if doing a clean install instead with your upgrade Vista from XP may work better for you instead. Be sure to have all of your device drivers for Vista handy before to make it easier to install them afterwards. Sometimes doing a upgrade from XP to Vista will result in compatibility issues with remnants of the XP install still in the Vista installation.
