| Vista Home Premium 64 bit | Toolbar at the top dissappeared I have had my new Dell Studio XPS for less than a week. I love it, it is tons faster than my previous computer with a WEI of 5.9. However, today I was wasting time playing Sid Meiers Railroads and the game crashed. After the crash the bar at the top of my computer screen was missing. It was like this tool/task bar(this one isn't specifically mine): It has Categories and the recycle bin in it. Can someone explain how I can get the toolbar back. I tried the only system restore point I had on my computer, but that didn't work. Thanks |

Free Software List for Vista @OP: Open up the start menu and see if Rocket Dock is listed. Also, restarting the computer should bring it back up. ~Lordbob |

| Vista Home Premium 64 bit | Re: Toolbar at the top dissappeared Thanks for your replys Airbot and Lordbob75, No, I did not have RocketDock installed, but it was similar, and it came with the computer (which is brand new from Dell). I first tried rebooting to see if it would come up (after the game crash). My next attempt was the restore point, which did not work either. I have just tried undoing the restore point with no success either. The "Vista Dock" as I will refer to it, was slow to load at startup, but I liked it's functionality, and the fact it helped keep my destop clean. I think I will try the RocketDock. After looking at the video, it appears it may serve my purpose, and then some. But if anyone else has any idea about the Vista dock, and getting it back, please feel free to let me know. Thanks. Edit: After installing RocketDock, it's not quite the same. One of the reasons I liked the Vista Dock was because of the "Categories" option. You could load a General icon like Photos as a category, and when you hovered over it, it didn't enlarge, it showed the different programs you put into the category. By doing that, it kept it more compact on the top of the screen. Last edited by Pokaholic; 03-15-2009 at 11:09 PM.. Reason: Additional info |
