Hi guys need some help here as I am lost
I purchased the OEM version of Vista Home basic 64 to Install on my home built rig. I want to do a fresh clean install On a 100gb Partition on My 1TB sata HD. I wiped the HD, made my Partitions, and popped in the vista disk. Boot from disk I get the black screen with progress bar "windows is loading files" Then I get the screen with the green progress bar and the microsoft with the copyright c- then it comes to the blueish green artsey screen and hangs. No graphical images, no progress bars, no text, just looks like a background for something. I have read lots of threads for similar issues and have tried everything i have thought of/read about Maybe you guys can help, Im at my wits end.. Here is what I have tried...
Unpluged all usb devices as well as lan cables
disabled all usb devices and controller and legacy in my bios
made sure my sata drive was operating as an ide in bios
removed my sound card from the MOBO
removed all but one single 2gig stick of ram from MOBO
Rolled back my video drivers to the out of package ones
The system I am trying to load it on is
AMD phenom 9950 quadcore
asus M3N72-d Motherboard
xfx geforce 9800gtx graphics card
SB audigy 2 soundcard(unplugged from mobo)
8gigs corsaiar dominator ram (only 2 gigs plugged in)
WD 1 TB hard drive
Any ideas?
Thanks
EDIT
Oddly on my 15th time trying to install I finally got the splash screen after ejecting and reinserting my dvd twice... If anyone has similar problems hopefully this will help and I'll report if I make thru the rest of install ok
