SP2 adds watermark Evaluation Copy to my Fully Licensed X-64 Ultimate Desktop

Hi guys
I know Vista SP2 is still in "beta" phase but unlike W7 where the WHOLE OS is a beta I've legally paid for a VISTA license -- so after installing SP2 knowing it is still in beta and will expire in Apr I was a bit peeved to see Evaluation Copy stamped on my Desktop - especially when I've PAID for a full VISTA ULTIMATE license.

This implies to management etc etc that I've downloaded a temporary copy of the OS rather than a Service Pack especially the water mark doesn't even MENTION SP2 on it.

This is the sort of stuff that makes me want to go to torrents to look for cracks in how to get rid of this stuff.

Cheers

I believe what they are referring to with the watermark is that the SP2 beta is for evaluation, not your OS. It's MS's way of reminding you to install the WHQL version of SP2 when it is released.

If you don't want to wait for the full SP2 release to get rid of the watermark, try this site.

SP2 did not turn your fully licensed and paid for vista ultimate into an evaluation, it is just a watermark noting that the SP2 you installed is an eval and expires, you can uninstall SP2 and upgrade when it is released, no problem i believe.

That is correct. Don't forget that you will need to uninstall SP2 beta prior to installing a subsequent version of SP2.
