How do I find a missing Impgspl.ax file to unregister it?

Each time I start Windows Live Photo Gallery Crash, it presents an error window stating, in part:

"Sorry, Photo Gallery closed unexpectedly while processing this file:

C:\Users\[Name]\Videos\[Folder]\MOV00454.MPG"

I execute the "Ignore file" option, receive notices that the application has stopped working and is restaring, then receive a "Problem Reports and Solutions" window stating, in part:

"
Follow these steps to troubleshoot problems with lmpgspl.ax
This problem was caused by lmpgspl.ax, which was created by Ligos Corporation.

lmpgspl.ax is a codec. A codec is software that is used to compress or decompress a digital media file, such as a song or video. Media players and other programs use codecs to play and create digital media files. "

I followed the steps provided to unregister Impgspl.ax as an administrator, but receive notice from the regsvr32 /u command that "The module "Impgspl.ax" failed to load. Make sure taht the binary is stored at the specified path or debug it to check for problems with the binary or dependent .DLL files. The specified module could not be found."

Welcome Roger.

I would try reinstalling the software first. If you can't do that, try putting in your Vista disk and repair.

After upgrading to Windows 7, I still had the original problem, but I stumbled across the solution. The file name in this post is misspelled: The first character in the file name is "l" as in LIMA, not "i" as in "INDIA." Searching for the file with the correct name, I found it in C:\Windows\SysWOW64 and successfully unregistered it.
