wmplayer runs in background at startup

I noticed when I started up my machine that the CPU monitor was pegged for quite sometime, and the disk was thrashing like a washing machine. I opened task manager and saw that wmplayer was running, though this was a startup operation. I killed the process, and it came back within a second. I killed it over and over but something was restarting it.

I then had the machine do a clean shutdown, and I got a bluescreen when it came back up. Luckily on the second boot, it came up fine, but once again, wmplayer came back to life and started trashing the HD again. This time I waited it out and after a few minutes it calmed down.

I'm thinking of uninstalling wmplayer, but figured I'd post here first, see if anyone knows about this.

I have the regular Vista file indexing disabled, btw. This is related to wmplayer.
