I need to make a decision within the next 3 days or so.
I have a new HP XW8600 dual Quad Core with 16GB Ram with ATI 4780HD Toxic GPU and a Raid 5 with Cheetahs T10.
I will almost exclusively use it for Video editing with the Matrox Axio HD Board. To me speed is very important because of long rendering times it sometime take.
Vista X64 is fully supported and tested by Matrox with the hardware I have, so a pretty safe bet. However I have a few friends who are trying to pursuade me into installing Win7 instead, because it supposedly is much faster and since it uses a lot of the Vista engine it still is reliable/stable and it uses the same drivers as Vista X64
.
What do you guys think? Is it worth a try or is it still way too early?
Thanks for your opinion,
Peter
