Sorry if this is the wrong place to post, but I would appreciate any help or advice.
I am writing on behalf of my sister, who has an Olympus camera and a laptop with Vista as its OS.
She has not previously had any problems using the two together, but today when she inserted her XD card to copy pictures on to her laptop hard drive as usual (she has not thus far deleted pictures off the XD card, but always just copies them), a series of windows flashed up, and then it said that the XD card was empty, and she could not find the photos on the hard drive either (they are not in the usual picture location, nor could she find them anywhere else).
Can you advise anything that might retrieve the photographs? We do not know if the problem is with the XD card or with the laptop, but would appreciate any advice. The photos do not appear to have been copied to any location, but do seem to have been deleted from the card. I am sorry for the scant information (I think her laptop is a HP, bought three months ago, 3GHz), but any suggestions would be great, especially as I have no experience of Vista myself.
