Hi, I'm new to the Vista forums,
now that that's out of the way i've been searching for a solution to the problem but even after searching thru the forums here i couldn't find a fix. This may be due to may crap search skills but thats besides the point atm.
here is my problem
How do i change the color of the desktop behind the wallpaper in the windows aero theme?
I've done it before so i know it can be done it's just that i can't remember.
Any help would be greatly appriciated!

Right click desktop
Personalize

Actually I get that far and can't remember,, it is in there somewhere.
Under a Customize link I believe under Display. I haven't looked at it in so long though.
Hope this helps point you in the relatively right direction.

Unfortunately not, i've checked display settings and there is no customize button...for me anyway

Not display,,, it's under Personalize,,, then look at the left menu,, I think it is a link there... Or is it under Wallpaper and then one of the links there?

Can you provide a Screen Shot of the Personalize Screen? It is in there somewhere. If I were on my system I could tell you exactly where it is.

It's in the Change Desktop Background screen, at the bottom, right next to the row of three pictures, in small blue text.

Ok, i think I know now. Go to Windows Color and Appearance, "Open Classic appearance properties...", select "Windows Aero" from the list, and hit "advanced" to the right, and desktop should be the first choice.

Personalization->Window colour and Appearance
click on the option at the bottom"open classic appearance properties for more options". You will find the aero theme there. HTH.
