You can't right click on the MSI file and click Install. Are you running the administrator account?

Don't install registry keys to fix problems. I would recommend backing up your data first. Do you have system restore working? I would do it to a point before you did that.

Boot into administrator mode. System restore will revert your computer back to that restore point. Run it from administrator.

All data put on from the restore point to now. This was why I said backup your data.

well it seems to have deleted everything BUT documents so thats a relief of sorts.
but it still not fixed my windows installer problem, when click on MSI it pops up a "open with" box.
