My machine's an early riser and I'm a sleeper inner!

So I have this issue I'm hoping someone can help me with. For a long time my computer would wake from sleep mode early in the morning everyday, not the end of the world so I didn't really pay it much attention. But then I had this hard drive issue where if my media drive was plugged in the os wouldn't boot, couldn't figure it out so I took it to some tech guys, they couldn't figure it out either but were able to move the files so at least I didn't lose them. Good right? Yeah, but ever since I got it back I'll put it to sleep at night, and on an hourly basis, when my Blackberry does it's connection thing, you know where it makes that sound over a set of speakers, it wakes my computer! I consider myself pretty good with a lot of basic stuff but this is beyond me. What could possibly be affected by me cell phone that would wake my machine?

Hello Danny, and welcome to Vista Forums.

You might check your network adapter's Power Management settings in Device Manager to make sure that it is set to not allow it to wake up the computer, and that the Wake on Ring and Wake on Lan options are disabled in the BIOS. You can see more about this in the STEP THREE and STEP SIX section of this tutorial if needed.

Hope this helps,
Shawn
