Problem with Search and regedit

I think I inadvertently turned off the ability to use the Search Box in place of the Run command. It now works just like Search (eg, regedit doesn't start the Registry Editor, but instead opens Explorer and doesn't find a file or folder called regedit). Can you please tell me how to fix this?
