Vista - hprb update?

I've googled and saw a post here but I still don't have an answer
as to what "hprb" stands for and where "hprb update needs your attention"
came from and if I should allow it? I have a Toshiba laptop and run Vista Home Premium.

Hprb update is a tool which will update the drivers for hp products like printer, scanner, and many other software comes with hp laptop,For your hp laptop to work properly.

Thanks for your response. I have a Toshiba laptop so I'm still wondering if you know for sure? Maybe for a printer....?? What do the letters stand for? With phising and all the security threats I just want to be sure before I "allow."

Hello Slmdunkr, and welcome to Vista Forums.

Do you have a HP printer or scanner with it's software installed?

The hprbUpdate.exe file is part of the HP Product Assistant software. It is safe, but if you wanted to stop it, then this may help.

Dear Shawn,
Finally a real answer.... thanks! I do have an HP all-in-one printer and hence the
pop up. I especially appreciate the url that you included. My pop up doesn't mention
Hewlitt Packard so that made it more mysterious. Thanks again, Mike
