BSODs, need help repairing corrupt system files.

I need help fixing my computer!!!

I keep getting BSOD's, and I have tried many things to fix the problem: removing programs known to cause problems (Opera browser, Yahoo Toolbar, a few others), updating BIOS, updating video display drivers, and running sfc.exe as administrator.

When sfc runs, it says 'Windows Resource Protection found corrupt files but was unable to repair some of them.' I've created sfcdetails.txt on my desktop, but the log doesn't show any repairs at all. I'm starting to wonder if I'm missing system files...

If ANYONE has any information on how to figure out which files may need repairing/replacing, it would be MUCH appreciated.

"...you may see some recent files with a DMP extension in the \windows\minidump folder on that machine - one for each of the reboots. They're memory dumps each corresponding to one crash/reboot sequence.

If you copy a few of the latest DMPs out of that folder and into another directory, then zip them up and upload them here, someone might be able to analyse them for you and tell you precisely why the machine is crashing and rebooting. "

That driver has inserted itself into your network stack and it is almost certainly the cause of your crashes. I'd suggest first working out how that driver got onto your machine (is it part of a legit security product, or is it malware?), then updating or removing it as appropriate.

TFilter.sys is a part of SystemSuite 9, which is installed on my computer. Do you know any way to update a system driver? Thanks.

The fact that it's part of a product called "SystemSuite 9" doesn't technically make it a "system driver"

Whether an update exists would probably depend on whether there's a "SystemSuite 10". You ought to check the app vendor's website and try to download updates from there.

There were plenty of other gems in the product description, but that one made me laugh loudest. Busy as they were "optimizing the way Windows uses memory", they apparently neglected to fix their buggy driver.

Personally, I wouldn't let that thing anywhere near any computer for which I had feelings.

And then I realised you may be asking me how to update the rest of the "system" because you're not confident that the TFilter.sys "SystemSuite 9" driver really is responsible for the BSoDs. Your most recent dumps that I've looked at all suggest the exact same problem:

In my opinion, the likelihood that TFilter.sys is not causing these crashes is very small indeed. If you did want to update the system (OS) itself, just go to the Windows Update site and install everything it suggests.

Ok, so here's an update on the status of my system:

Did system restore to pre-BSOD settings.
Reconfigured SystemSuite9 through Programs and Features in Control Panel.
Uninstalled and re-installed certain programs that were on at the time of stop errors.
Updated drivers and OS through Windows Update.

As of right now, it has been 3 days since my last Blue Screen. I think I fixed it, and if so, thank you H2S04.
