Restarts evertime by itself unexpectedly

My computer restarts, what seems like after a certain short period of time, every time I turn it on. The first time, it asked me to do a system restore, so I did, but it didn't fix it. I tried to see if it was something that was being opened during the login process but it still shuts down while on the login screen. I also turned off the Automatic Restart feature to see if anything could be seen, and it just freezes up with a black screen, so no information. The touchpad LED stays on, the power led's stay on, and the wireless card LED changes for enabled to disabled. The LED for the HD doesn't light unless I start to hold down (or press it once, and it still shuts off) the power button. The windows check problem gives the following error, but when it checks for a solution, the window just closes and no help given:

Hi Leek, Welcome to the Forum.

If you have just, connected any new hardware, remove it. Installed new drivers, roll back to the old ones.

You can also check the C:\Windows\Minidump folder for recent dumps, zip the latest few and attach them here.

You need to check all drivers are up to date and working properly. (Device Manager)
Check all hardware is sitting properly, all cables are connected and that all fans are turning.

Check that you have the latest bios installed.

I hope this helps

If the restart time is the same each time, your computer could be overheating.

I've attached the Minidump folder. I took it to BestBuy and they were able to do a boot from CD and scan the system. Since it was able to run for a long time, I'm assuming it is a virus. I remembered, after that, that symantec endpoint protection found a virus and tried to quarantine it but gave an access denied, which I'm guessing links to a system file that couldn't be quarantined. If there's any way to check the Minidump and/or symantec log to locate the file and fix it, let me know. Else, I'll just reinstall windows, maybe even downgrade to XP.

I just had a quick look at a selection of those dumps and they all seem to point to SRTSPL.SYS which is part of symantec anti virus software.

I'd start by uninstalling any Symantec software to see if it fixes the BSoD's and then try a different anti-virus like avast.

Thanks! Is there a way to uninstall it in safe mode? It restarts before I can do anything. Could I go to services and stop it from starting on bootup in normal mode?

Sorry for the double post. I just went to safe mode, went to the services, disabled all symantec services, and rebooted in normal mode and everything seems fine! Thanks a lot everyone for their help!

Coincidently, my university, which is where I got the free Symantec Endpoint Protection, also gives free Symantec Endpoint Protection Remover, lol. I've already removed it, but I still haven't added a virus protection to it yet. I'm not sure what to use. I guess I'll try avast. Thanks for the concern though!
