Split Page File Question

I have two physical hard drives. Both are identical. I want to move my Page File to my second drive to see if I get a performance increase.

I did some research and learned that you must keep a small page file on your C drive because Windows writes a small amount of data to the C drive upon boot.

Does anybody have experience with this setup?

You'll get the best possible performance from multiple pagefiles on separate spindles (drives). The OS can detect the currently-least-busy drive and direct paging writes to that pagefile.

There is a special affinity of sorts for the boot partition (the one on which \windows resides), and if that pagefile is big enough the other benefit is that the machine can generate kernel dumps for troubleshooting, if necessary.

Thanks. So would it be best to keep the boot-drive Page File as small as possible?
(the idea, forcing the use of the second drive) Or is it an activity issue, as you suggest.

If so, I plan to use the Windows recommended minimum size. Then creating a small page file on my boot drive, and a large page file on my second drive.

It's purely a question of activity. There is no particular need to aim for a small pagefile on the boot partition.
