Temporary files missing

I use Vista Ultimate x64 and I was forced to use the Restore function due to my 500gb Hard Drive failure about 2 weeks ago. I bought a 1 TB hardrive and it did recovery the whole system, my C: where I had my OS and also my D: where I had all my applications and data. The only thing was that it did format the partitions to match the previous size. According to what I was reading here, it was probably the option on step 5. I'm planning to correct that with the Disk Management tool, I hope....

Anyways, let me mention what I noticed and maybe you can help me. After the restore, everything seems to be back in place, but the temporary folder used by IE to keep the cache files(%userprofile%AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\Temporary Internet Files\), disappeared. I've tried to make it visible, but no lucky... the same thing happened with Firefox. I used to use 2 little programs to check the cache files, one for IE (IEcacheview) and another one that works with Firefox (VideoCacheView) and neither one is now able to locate or display any cache files, even after watching small videos or browse the net on either browser in order to force them to have something on the cache... nothing... not even on windows explorer I'm able to locate the directories....

Also I was trying to move some photo folders to my D drive and I got an error, which was kind of weird, but then I noticed checking the properties that my Photos folder on my D: drive was now marked as Read-only.... I really don't understand why is that, it should be restored everything as it was, so why it seems that it changed permissions on some folders? and also I'm wondering if it's also a permissions thing that is not allowing me to find/see the cache files...
Any ideas?

Thanks,

Soleil
