continuing search issue(s)

windows ultimate 64: I am looking right at a drive's contents in explorer and there is a files that I want; below it another one, etc. However, only one of them appears from an index search -- seemingly no matter what I do.

Help.

Hello Rmartin, and welcome to Vista Forums.

If you do not do a lot of searches, then you may be better off disabing the index so that Vista will default to using non-index seaches all the time. It may be a tad bit slower at searching, but you will always get accurate results.

If you prefer to use the index, then double check to make sure that location is included in the index. If it is, then the index may not have finished updating itself since it only does so slowly in the background when the computer is at low or no usage. In that case rebuilding the index may help produce a more accurate search result.

Either way, be sure to also set your search options for how you want your search results to.
