Vista automatically backs up my computer files to my external hard drive every week. But these files are used for restore, not for storage. I was wondering if someone could help me auto back up my documents, pictures & music to the external hard drive. On my old laptop (running XP), I used to have a "briefcase" in my external hard drive. Every time that was connected, it would automatically add any new files in the briefcase (in this case, music). I am constantly downloading new music & etc. so it's a tedious task to manually back up these files. Please help!!!

No. I didn't want that back up. Im using that one already. But the files are all in compressed form and stuff.. for restoration. That's not what I want. I just want a copy of my documents, pictures and music on my external hard drive. That way I can copy it to other computers & etc...

However, you will need to use a 3rd party file backup program that supports that option to be able to do it in Vista instead.
