I am trying to connect my epson printer to the firewire port on my new 64-bit machine but it does not work. Epson has informed me that Vista64 does not support firewire and that I need to use USB. IS this true?

I had done all that. According to Dell, and from what I can see, everything is working fine with the Firewire ports. I believe it is a problem with Epson's driver, but I am surprised that Espon would say their isn't firewire support for 64bit, which does not make sense to me.

Well this whole thing was confusing. I could not get the printer to work. Epson blames vista 64 not supporting firewire. I contact Dell and they said the firewire ports are fine. I ask them if vista 64 supports firewire. They say contact MS. MS says I need to contact the PC manufactorer on any MS operating problems, since that is where I purchased it from, or pay $60 to seek assistance. I am not paying $60. So all I get is a run around.
As a result, I am going to add a USB PCI slot and just use the usb cables. Now my problem is I think the PC only uses USB PCI Express cards, and they're a bit hard to find.... but I'll look around some more.
