Windows Vista freezes after 5 mins

HI all

My Nephew's vista on a Dell inspiron freeze 5 minutes after he start it. It just hangs after 5 mins. I've tried restarting the machine and the same thing happens.

I want to try and uninstall Macafe Antivirus software as there is another Anti virus also in the system and somebody mentioned that this could be the reason. But five mins run out very soon.
I've also de fragmented the Laptop. But that did not help.

I am not able to figure out what is wrong, can any one help on this please?

Have you tried rebooting in Safemode, Then performing a Registry Cleanup or Defrag?;)

Is the computer overheating?
