Solved DVD RW goes to burn folder when trying to read any disc

My only optical drive on my laptop prompts me to "drag files here to burn" when ever I put a disc in. It reads the title of the disk and lists that in the explorer, but it takes forever to load when I click on :explore: and then just goes to the burn folder.

Thank you for the welcome. My problem is different, there were no files in the temporary burn folder. Whenever I put a disk that I wrote maybe 6 months ago in and go to computer, then click on my optical drive to explore that disk's contents it takes a long time for the green bar to move across the top and then it prompts me to prepare disk for burning.

Thanks again for responding. I was in a panic this morning and forgot to thank you all for doing what you do on these forums.

As a test, turn off AutoPlay to see if stops doing that afterwards.

It's not the auto play I tried turning that off. It actually gives the name of the cd and how much space is used/available, like this...
E drive with primer in it.JPG
but when I actually click on the icon for the optical drive and it tries to explore/open it, it looks like this...

Update: Other disks are working

Shsesc,

I'm happy to hear that the other disks are working as they should for you. That one may have gone bad for you.
