| Vista Home Premium 32bit | Start menu> Documents> Documents Missing I looked but couldn't find this issue elsewhere. I noticed that when I opened my files, there were extra MY DOCUMENTS folders. Other people who used this computer apparently messed around and copied MY DOCUMENTS folders. I tried to remedy the mess, but did so when I was tired, and seem to have made matters worse. Now, when I go to the Start Menu> Documents the documents are not there. I am at a loss as to how to fix this. Can anyone help? Thanks, Dinah K |

Please take a look at this guide Personal User Folder - Restore Missing Folder I hope it will help you. Go to the option three and download Restore_Documents_Default_Location.reg file. Cheers... | Vista Home Premium 32bit | Re: Start menu> Documents> Documents Missing Thank you, Martee! I will take your advice. I did that, but when I click on the round Windows icon and open the start menu, and then click on Documents, it still says (Empty). Do you have any ideas about what I can do next? It may be a simple solution, but I am not very swift when it comes to the details about Vista. Dinah K Last edited by Dinah K; 05-22-2009 at 07:18 PM.. |

| Vista Ultimate x64 sp2, Solaris x64 | Re: Start menu> Documents> Documents Missing Dinah, Sorry to hear the Documents are still missing. Let's try another option.Well, I think you will have to restore Vista using Restore Center. To do this, click Start in the Start Search write backup and restore, then select Backup And Restore Center. Click Repair Windows Using System Restore, in the System Restore window select "Choose a different restore point" and click Next. Try to select the restore point (the date) before your friends messed up your computer. Then confirm the restore point and click finish. Your computer will reboot and step back in time. I think, this will help. cheers... |

| Vista Home Premium 32bit | Re: Start menu> Documents> Documents Missing Hi Martee, Sorry for the delay in replying. I actually think that with all the problems going on with my computer, I'm going to do a complete system recovery. It is something I don't do unless I really feel I need to. I also have the issue of a completely unfindable root folder. I believe someone has used cmd to write a script to hide it. So, as odd as that might sound, I will post a question to that effect with details on Vista forums, and if I cannot remedy the problem, I will do the system recovery. Thanks again. Dinah |
