I had my name and my mum decided to go on her name to get parental control, when she realised it blocked even google, she took if off but kept her name

On tuesday the 11th i tried to get on my name only everything was grey and really old so i restarted my computer. The message came up when i tried to get on the name!

I have tried to use system restore but it will not let me go as far back as the 11th (today being the 23rd) and it really sucks

I do not want to delete the username because my iTunes account is on there plus my songs that i paid for!!

I also tried safe mode by pressing F8, that didnt work because there was no way on entering it on safe mode as it came up different ways into enter the computer eg hard drive, removable drive etc

does anyone have a solution

(btw i am new here so i dont know if this is in the right place lol)

Why are you looking at the system restore part? The main tweak is at the beginning when Shawn expalins to delete and rename some registry keys. Try that and it will fix your problem. I have tried that on 100's of client computers and it has hardly ever failed. :geek:

I'm having the same problem but am the only user on this computer so can't seem to get beyond the opening screen that asks for my password. When I enter it I get the "User Profile Service service failed the login. User profile cannot be loaded" message and my only option is to click on OK which takes me back to the login screen. My only options there are to keep trying to enter my password or to shut down/restart. How do I get beyond this???

Hi spursgirl, you can follow the tutorial by booting your computer using Vista DVD and enter the WIN RE. Click on command prompt, type regedit and press ENTER.
It will open registry editor and then follow Shawn's tutorial.

Thanks for that. Have, amazingly (for me, anyway) just solved the issue with a suggestion from another forum user and then by following Shawn's brilliant tutorial. As new girl, am sure that there must be a way of saying how fab the replies have been but have yet to find it - so thanks and gold stars all round!
