backup question

how do you make a recovery disk for vista home premium 32 bit without wiping all hdd's clean just install it on one hdd because ive got my operating system on one hard drive and my media on another what i dont want to lose, if i have to reinstall again. ive got backup disks which wiped both hdds last time i reinstalled

Are these image disks that you created or that came with the computer? If you make and image of only the disk you wish to be able to restore, then it shouldn't bother the other hard drive. I had this problem the first time I tried restoring an image made by 3rd party software. It was all or nothing. Instead of making one large image of everything, try making an image of just your C: partition, and if you like a second image of your personal files. That way you can restore only the drive you like.

when i bought my pc i did backups using acer erecovery and that only installed on my c drive ,so my media was still on the second hdd. When i was reinstalling again half
way through i went to get a drink and would u believe it, my dog destroyed the 2nd recoverable disk . Luckily ,i had recover disks from a toshiba laptop what i used but that wiped all my data from both hdd.


Ive tried reinstalling acer Erecovery but keep getting this error message


eRecovery can not be installed- I.Bootable File


whats that mean?

I don't know what that may mean; have you contacted Acer to see if a set of disks are available for purchase.

yes thanks for the help but i think id rather just back my media up on dvd's rather than paying for a backup disk when i could just download an iso file an put my windows key in to legitamise it
