I have a 6 month old Toshiba Satellite laptop with VISTA. It has been little used but the Toshiba TEMPRO alert system is now telling me that drive: D has reached 75% of capacity - only 33gb free on a 149gb drive.
I have no idea what this 110 gb has been used for nor can I "find" Drive D.
Any advice welcome
This sounds like it may be restore points being saved on your OEM recovery partition. You can check with this tutorial to see of the D: drive is checked to have restore points saved made for and stored on it. If it does, then you can just uncheck the D: drive and click on OK to restore the hard drive space and turn off System Restore for the D: drive.

thanks for the quick reply. I have gone into "system protection" but Drive D does not appear. The window"available disks" shows one ticked box for Vista (c(System) with a restore point being done this morning but no mention of "d:"
You might check to see if you have some sort of Toshiba backup program that was included with your laptop that may be saving files to this location that you can turn off or clear any unneeded backups.
