This screenie explains it all :

Dialog box translation :
Microsoft Windows
Close softwares to prevent losing data
The memory in your computer is insufficiant
Save your files and close this software :

Firefox

Close software, cancel
Windows will only close the number of software required to restore the memory needed

Although I do have lots of RAM taken, there's still around 600MB free.
Software running in bg/active :
- NOD32 (2 services - 20MB)
- mIRC (1.5MB)
- foobar2000 (2MB - standby)
- Windows Live Messenger (18MB)
- AIM (8MB)
- 2x Adobe Audition 1.5 (44MB & 4MB)
- Notepad (516K)
- Folder (?)
- The KMPlayer (720p video running) (120MB)
- Vuze (50MB)

The error mainly appears when I'm using huge programs like Photoshop, FLStudio...
Also, I was watching the 720p file in The KMPlayer when the message appeared.

I would love to make this dialog box not appear anymore. It ANNOYS me a lot. Thanks 4 help.

2GB RAM is not exactly a lot for a machine running Photoshop or many other apps concurrently. Also, these errors may happen long before the Task Manager shows every last MB being drained because of large requests that cannot be fulfilled. Say your box is up to 75% usage. Along comes Photoshop and attempts to allocate another 400MB. That fails because of certain safeguards built into the system, and you get the memory popup even though the failed alloc is not visible.

Unless you've got reason to suspect a memory leak on your system - gradually increasing memory usage after a reboot until an inevitable breakdown - the way to fix your issue is to add more RAM. It's cheap nowadays and having 4GB will help.

I know that but even if it's cheap... I only have 250$ in money right now and I don't have revenue anymore until i find a job so...

Btw, in photoshop, I only edit small files (less than 1MB), it's the soft itself that is too big.

it may be a good idea to open the processes tab and take a screensht of that so we can see what process is eating memory

Firefox has a memory issue on some systems , it doesnt release memory thats no longer needed , the ultimate cause of this seems to be that you just run out of ram whether firefox is open or not , this however is normally only an issue if the pagefile is either too small or disabled (in instances ive come across)

Im only guessing at firefox because of the error message i could be way off the mark , see if firefox.exe is in your processes (under the processes tab) and see how much ram its using

If you can't afford RAM, then your only other option is to close the apps that you're not using. That will save some RAM, and the newly opened program can take advantage of it.
